PROGRAMME OF THE COURSE

The masterclass is addressed to conductors of any level, without age limit, who want to study in deep the music of Ludwig van Beethoven under the guidance of one of the most important conductors and teachers in Italy, M° Luciano Acocella, former Music Director of Opéra de Rouen Haute-Normandie, teacher at Accademia Chigiana in Siena, G. Rossini Conservatoire in Bologna and La Scuola dell’Opera Italiana in Bologna.

The course is articulated in n°6 (six) days of lessons. All the lessons will be recorded with a front camera and the recording will be used to discuss with the teacher at the end of each session,
The recording will be given to the students in digital format at the end of the course.

All the students will have daily podium time, the maximum number of active students is 12 (twelve).

On the last day of the course, the best students chosen by the teacher, will conduct a concert part of “Autunno Fiorentino” Festival; a concert suit/dress is required.

One of the best students, chosen by common consent by organization and the teacher, will be invited as guest conductor in 2024/2025 season of Toscana Classica

Saturday November 25th

14:00 – 19:30 Registration of the students and meeting with the teacher

Sunday November 26th, Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th

10:00 – 14:00 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) – Lesson with the orchestra
15:00 – 17:30 (3 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.) – Theory lesson with the aid of the videos

Thursday 30th

Time to be defined: Dress rehearsal
21:00 (9.00 p.m.) Concert

All the students will have to know at least one Symphony and  one Ouverture chosen among the ones in the repertoire. The choice of the pieces to be performed during the lessons is up to the students; the program of the final concert will be decided during the course.

FINAL CONCERT

The Final Concert will take place on November 30th at Ottone Rosai Auditorium and will be part of “Autunno Fiorentino” Festival. 

RECORDINGS

All the sessions with the orchestra will be recorded with a front camera. The recording will be used for the video sessions and will be given to the student at the end of the masterclass

COURSE FEE AND REQUIREMENTS

Couse fee, active students: € 500,00

Application fee: € 180,00

Total amount of fees: € 680,00

The application fee has to be paid at the moment of the application; the course fee has to be paid at the closing of the applications (the students will be informed in due time).

The applications will be processed in order of arrival, there is no admission examination

PASSIVE STUDENTS

The participation fee for passive students is unique and permits to assist to all the  lessons;

MEALS AND ACCOMMODATION

Meals and accommodation are up to the participants. The organization will offer assistance in finding proper accommodation in Florence for the period of the masterclass.

FINAL PROVISIONS

The course will be activated with a minimum number of students.
The application and participation fees will not be returned in any case, except the cancellation of the courses; in that case, the students will be promptly advised.
The participation at the courses implies the full acceptance of the present rules.
Artes Association will give prompt notification of any modification of the rules that may occur. For any legal action, the Italian text of the announcement must be considered. The competent forum is Prato’s.
