Former Music Director of Opéra de Rouen Normandie, Conducting Teacher at G. B. Martini Conservatoire in Bologna, Accademia Chigiana in Siena and La Scuola dell’Opera Italiana at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Awarded in the Mitropoulos Conducting Competition and in the Prokofiev Conducting Competition in 1996, he became Daniele Gatti’s assistant and began then an International career conducting in Europe ( Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Denmark and Russia), United States and Asia ( Japan, Korea and China).

He conducted in theatres such as Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Tokio Opera, Opera di Roma, Opéra Grand Avignon, Opéra de Marseille, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, and all the major opera houses in France. 

From 2011 to 2014 he was Musical Director of Opéra de Rouen Haute-Normandie.

For that which concers symphonic institutions, Luciano Acocella conducted orchestras such as Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Montecarlo, Radio France Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, Seul Philharmonic, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica de Galicia, Toscanini Orchestra of Parma, the Festival Orchestra of Miami, the Thessaloniky State Symphony Orchestra.

Amongs his recordings highlights include I Capuleti e i Montecchi in the 1830-31 version of the La Scala theatre, Adelaide di Borgogna of Rossini, and a Puccini album with Melanie Diener and the Prague Philarmonic Orchestra.

Luciano Acocella is also one of the most sought-after Italian teachers at an International level.
